According to Frank's younger brother, Frank died of a heart attack at his home in Oklahoma on Sunday, April 15th. He had requested no service, but an obituary will soon be posted in the SM Times. Such sad news......Frank and I grew up together in Guadalupe.
Again I hear of the sad news of one of my boyhood friends from Guadalupe passing away. I met Frankie, as i always called him, in the first grade at Guadalupe Grammar school. We instantly became good friends along with all the rest of the Guad guys. We went all through grammar school and high school together, playing football at good old Santa Maria high. In Summer vacation, he and Mark Thornton would pick me up and we would head to Avila beach or Oso Flaco lake. Jonesy, another name I had for him, was also pretty smart about mechanics. I remember his 53 Ford that he always would work on, till it finally gave out! I'm sure that's how he got ahead in his oil industry job. He probably knew more about the job than they did. It's always sad when we lose friends, but especially the boyhood friends you grew up with. I will miss Frankie.
