Carol Olsen

I was born in Sister's (Our Lady of Perpetual Help) Hospital, Santa Maria, CA on Airport Drive (College Drive now). Dr. Clifford Case delivered me, the same Dr. Case that later delivered 2 of my children.

Friends say my children and I look very much alike. When I was first married, the Boeing Company moved us to Seattle, Washington, and we lived in Bellevue, Washington, for a few years. We got tired of the rain, and we returned to Santa Maria, California. We bought our first home in New Oak Knolls. When Jami was born, (child #3) we bought a 4-bedroom home on Amethyst Drive. We lived there for a few years and sold it. A few years later, that same home was for sale, so I told my daughter Kelli about it. She and her husband bought it and still live there.

I love going for long walks. I love to go Swing Dancing at Madonna Inn. I enjoy traveling and enjoy having friends over. I've always been outgoing and enjoy people.

During my working career, I worked for Santa Barbara County for several years. I'm retired now. I also love giving service and helping others.

I attended Kindergarten at Orange Street Kindergarten taught by Miss Oats. The building is still there. I attended grades first through sixth at Main Street School. That building was removed and Wells Fargo Bank currently occupies that corner. Mrs. Evelyn Adriaenssens taught my 1st grade. Mrs. Schultz taught my 2nd grade. I don't remember who taught my 3rd grade. Mrs. Faith Campbell taught my 4th grade. Mr. Bill Pike taught my 5th grade. Mr. Ben Lloyd taught my 6th grade. Of course, most of us attended El Camino for 7th and 8th grades. For both grades, Mr. Ken Milo was my morning teacher and Ms. Juanita Logan was my afternoon teacher.

I attended Santa Maria High School 9th through 12th and graduated.

I graduated from Allan Hancock College.
